Most neighbourhood surgeries send their difficult cases away. All Saints Dental Clinic keeps them. Its lead clinician, Ahmed Farooq, is a Consultant in restorative dentistry who trained at Birmingham Dental Hospital and then through King’s College London, the Royal London and Guy’s & St Thomas’; the orthodontics are run by a consultant orthodontist. Treatments and services

Everyday care covers examinations with mouth cancer screening, hygiene, white fillings, crowns and bridges, root canals and dentures. On top of it: implants from a single tooth to full-arch reconstruction, with bone grafting and CT planning where the jaw needs it, and a temporary tooth while the implant integrates; periodontal treatment; and urgent appointments for toothache, lost crowns and knocked-out teeth. Cosmetic work runs from composite bonding and veneers to Zoom in-chair whitening, take-home trays and white-spot treatment.

Straightening and referral work

Orthodontics is a speciality here rather than a sideline: Invisalign, Damon self-ligating braces and fixed ceramic or metal braces, for children and adults. It also takes referrals from other dentists in implants, periodontics, endodontics and oral surgery — the clearest measure of what it will take on.

The team

Ahmed Farooq (BMedSci BDS Birmingham) works minimally invasively and carries the complex restorative cases. Fariba Younes holds a Master’s from the University of London and decades in oral surgery, implants and prosthodontics. Aliza Jesani holds a Fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and teaches on the West Midlands postgraduate programme. Sarah Merhfour and Luisa Mateescu cover general and cosmetic work with aligners, with Gulshan Rana and Jodie Greaves as hygiene therapists.

Who it suits

Patients told elsewhere their case is too complicated — failing crowns, missing teeth, advanced gum disease — who would rather not travel into the centre.
